Merido recognises this format automatically, so there's nothing you need to configure. Import the file as it downloads, without opening or editing it first.
Troubleshooting
Merido won't read the file
The Include all additional transaction details option was most likely not selected. Choosing CSV clears this option, so it's easy to miss. Download the file again with the option selected.
The search never finishes
The date range is too long. Try exporting two years or less, which should load within a second or two.
A transaction you can see online is missing from the file
Check whether the transaction is still marked as Pending. Pending charges aren't included in the export and will appear in a later download after Amex processes them.
Other Amex download options
Amex also provides Previous Billing Periods, View By Year, and Statements. These options provide the same export format choices as the transaction view.
For getting your transaction history into Merido, Custom Date Range is the option to use. It lets you choose the full period you need and download it as a single file.
This guide has no steps for the American Express app because the app cannot export a CSV. It only provides PDF statements, so the export has to happen on the website in a browser.
